Zenobia Edwards Miller was born February 27, 1924 to the late John Wesley Edwards Sr. and Allie Johnson Edwards of Lynchburg, SC. Zenobia was the seventh child out of fifteen children. She departed this life on Saturday August 20, 2016 at her residence.
She was deeply rooted in education; she received her B.S. degree from Morris College in Sumter, SC and her Masters of Education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC.
During her years of teaching she met the love of her life, the late William "Bill" Miller and together they were united in Holy Matrimony on December 22, 1951, later she continued to educate and teach young children, men and woman, not only in the school district. Miller served in many capacities in the A.M.E. Church such as; Sunday school teacher, trustee, stewards, and Women's Missionary Society.
She leaves to cherish her memories; four sisters, Colia E. Sullivan of Greer, SC, Rosa Lee (Ernest) Scott of Columbia, SC, Earlene E. (Cornelius) Hayes of Chicago, Illinois and Eula E. Fulton of Lake City, SC.; two brothers, John Wesley Edwards of Lake City, SC and Waymon Edwards of Florence, SC; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Edwards of Lynchburg, SC, and Johnnie Mae Edwards of Olanta, SC; although she never had any children all of her nieces and nephews were children to her.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday August 24, 2016 from 3-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Miller will be placed in the church on Thursday at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held on Thurs. August 25, 2016 at 12NOON at Mt. Pisgah AME Church 217 West Bartlette Street, Sumter with Pastor Rev. Laddie Howard, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Family will be receiving friends at the home 101 East Claff Circle, Lake City, SC 29560.
