On Thursday December 31, 2020, Wisdom Albert Jr., loving husband and father of five, passed away at the age of 79.

Wisdom was born December 7, 1941 in Sumter SC to Wisdom Albert Sr. and Mary Anderson Albert. He contributed to the civil rights strides in this country when he and his sister Betty attended Eastern High School and graduated in 1962. He went on to continue to impact his community for the better when he became a police officer in Sumter County. He married Ada Belle Linton in 1964. They raised two daughters, Essie Linton and Sarah Linton (Jenkins), and two sons, Wisdom Albert III and Stanley Albert.

Wisdom was known for his infectious smile, his love of Gospel Music and love for Western Movies. Wisdom loved to sing and serenade his friends and family. He had a heart for people and loved to talk with everyone in the community. Wisdom was a mentor to many young men and he made sure to look out for those without a father present in their lives. He always tried to give back to his community.

Wisdom was proceeded in death by his father Wisdom Albert Sr., his mother Mary Anderson Albert, brothers James Albert and Prince Albert, and daughters Shirlann Albert and Essie Linton.

Wisdom is survived by his wife Ada Albert of the home; two sons, Wisdom Albert III of Sumter SC and Stanley Albert of Lexington SC; one daughter, Sarah Jenkins of Sumter SC; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty White of Baltimore MD, Jessie Ellington of Detroit MI, and Mary Harrison of Riverview FL; one brother Billy Albert of Sumter SC; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and precious friends who will miss him dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at 2:00PM at West End Community Church located at 101 South Salem Ave. Sumter SC 29150. Flowers and donations may be sent to 1041 Spaudling Ave. Sumter, SC 29150.
