Mr. Willie Vaughn, Sr., affectionately known as "Uncle Doug" and "Doug V.," was born on November 23, 1923 to the late Lawrence and Pearl Lewis Vaughn, Sr. in Sumter County, SC. He departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

Mr. Willie was educated in the public schools of Sumter, SC and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, where he served his country faithfully. At an early age, he became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a former member of the Trustee Ministry.

He was employed for many years and retired from Sumter Coatings in January 2017. He had a passion for interior home decorating and painting during his spare time.

He leaves to cherish his memory a special friend, Betty Riley of Sumter, SC; three sons: Willie Vaughn, Jr., Gregory (Jackie) Vaughn both of Sumter, SC, and Ernest Vaughn of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Nancy Vaughn of Hopkins, SC and Brenda Vaughn of Columbia, SC; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mable Murray, Margie Ford, and Pearl Mae (Frank) Mills all of Sumter, SC; one brother, Rev. Herman (Lula) Vaughn of Orangeburg, SC; two sisters-in-law, Lula Vaughn of San Diego, CA and Sarah McFadden of Sumter, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Willie was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Richardson; and two brothers, Lawrence Vaughn, Jr. and Bobby Vaughn.

Public Viewing will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Vaughn will be placed in the church on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 325 West Fulton Street Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Dr. James Blassingame, Pastor, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 133 K Street Sumter, SC 29150.
