Mother Willie Mae Slater Scott, daughter of the late Willie and Cassie Shadd Slater, was born on September 14, 1944 in Sumter, SC. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, SC.

She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated in 1963 from Booker T. Washington High School in Columbia, SC. Mother Willie Mae went on to become a certified Nursing Assistant and had an extensive career in the healthcare field and retired in 2010.
She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and began her spiritual walk in Christ at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, SC. Mother Scott was a faithful member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, SC, where she served on the Women's Ministry and the Petals and Pearls Ministry.

Public Viewing will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Scott will be placed in the church on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 12noon on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 South Salem Avenue, Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Julie Hayes Officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, 220 Mallard Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
