William Jones departed this life on August 17, 2017 at Palmetto Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. He was born on May 30, 1948 to Marie Bell Jones and the late Samuel Jones Sr.

He attended the public schools in Sumter County. He was employed with Ramsey Construction Company.

Williams leaves to cherish his precious memories; his loving wife, Betty Ann Jones; two daughters, Christine Jones and Stephanie Jones both of Sumter, SC; mother, Marie Bell Jones of the home; six grandchildren, Dashawn, Daquan, Dalaya Jones, Jimaya Jones, Keron Waller and Akeem Logan Jr.; six siblings, Susan (Abraham) Tomlin, Isaac Jones, Gregory Jones all of Sumter, SC; David (Pamela) Jones of Virginia, Harry Bell of New York, and George (Veronica) Bell of Columbia, SC; one aunt Irene Bell Jones of Sumter, SC; mother-in-law, Vermell Levan of Sumter, SC; four sister-in-law, Linda (Larry) Brown, Mary Brown, Colette (Joe) Mack, Linda (Maurice) Woods all of Sumter, SC; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Jones will be placed in the church on Thursday at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 1pm at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Ave, Sumter with Pastor Randolph Black, Officiating

Interment will follow in Cane Savannah Cemetery.

Family will be receiving friends at 5 Camellia Street, Sumter.
