Mr. William Charles (Billy) Jefferson departed this life on January 6, 2018, at his home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was the eldest of two sons born on January 1, 1959 to the late Willie McKinley (WM) and Wilhemenia Williams Jefferson in Sumter, South Carolina.
He was married to the late KumTu Jefferson.
Billy attended Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Mayesville, South Carolina during his earlier years.
He was a 1976 graduate of Mayewood High School in Sumter, South Carolina. After completing high school, he attended South Carolina State College in Orangeburg where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1980. He joined the United States Army in 1982, and was honorably discharged in 1993.
Billy was quiet, friendly, and private.
Those left to cherish his memories are: one brother, John Fitzgerald Jefferson; stepmother, Jeanie Isaac Jefferson; two stepsisters, Barbara B. Champagne and Melba Payne; three stepbrothers, Lee Ernest, Ronnie, and Robert Brown; four aunts; Pattie J. Gibson, Helen Walker, Nancy Jefferson, and Nancy Williams; and a host of cousins and other relatives.
Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Jefferson will be placed in the church on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Ebenezer AME Church, Mayesville, SC. Rev. Phillip Washington, Officiating.
Interment will be held at the Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:00am.
