Mr. W.B. Way was born on June 19, 1937 to the late Mr. Benjamin Way and Mrs. Ebenezer Smith Way in Clarendon County, SC. He was married to the late Thelma Davis Way.

Mr. Way joined Calvary Baptist Church in his youth, where he was baptized. He received his education in Clarendon County Schools System. Mr. Way was employed with several plants throughout his life until his health failed. W.B. was a member of the International Mason Pride of Sumter Lodge #35.

Mr. Way loss his voice several years ago due to cancer, but he never complained nor did he cease enjoying life to the fullest.

God in his infinite wisdom called W.B. from labor to reward on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Blue Ridge Nursing Facility in Sumter, SC.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Shirley Susan Davis and Rhonda (Andre) Way Williams both of Sumter, SC; eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Rev. Johnny (Barbara) Davis of Sumter, SC; two sisters-in-law, Christine Way of New York, NY and Eva Way of Manning, SC; two close nieces, Estelle Wells and Helen Canty both of Manning, SC; a special cousin, Rev. C.J. Way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, W.B. was preceded in death by five brothers: David, Joseph, Sumpter, Julius, and Marion Way; three sisters: Rosa Bell, Dapenie "Toot" and Sally Way; and a granddaughter, Robin Davis.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary, with Masonic Rites beginning at 6pm.

Mr. Way will be placed in the church on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Jackie Jackson Officiating and Rev. C.J. Way, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, 1121 Jordan Street Sumter, SC 29153
