Waymen Cantey, 83 son of the late Levalle and Ella Tindal Cantey was born on July 10, 1935 in Manning, SC. He departed this life on October 1, 2018. He peacefully took his journey to be with the Lord at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Mr. Cantey attended the public schools of Clarendon County.

He leaves to cherish his memories; two brothers, Thomas Cantey of Philadelphia, PA and David Cantey of Manhattan, NY; three nieces, Ida Lee Cantey, Anna Thomas both of Sumter, SC and Bernice Rosenburg of Bronx, NY; one nephew, Charlie Cantey of Philadelphia, PA.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Bertha Tindal, Ida Cantey, Maybell Hammett, and Retus "Rita" Cantey Rosenburg White;  one brother, Louis Cantey; grandparents, William Tindal and Anna Davis Tindal.

Public Viewing will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 1-4pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Cantey will be placed in the church on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Westend Community Church with Dr. Ralph W. Canty Sr., Officiating.

Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 1919 West Oakland Avenue, Sumter, SC 29150
