Walter Moten, Sr. was received as a gift from God on December 23, 1937 to his parents, the late Ben, Sr. and Beulah Session Moten. He departed this life on Monday, January 13, 2020.

Walter leaves to cherish his legacy his wife, Mary Ruth Moten; his children: Timothy Moten of Mesquite, TX, Walter Moten, Jr. of Sumter, SC, and Sheila Moten of Mesquite, TX; a loving sister, Evangelist Mary E. Felix of Decatur, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews, whom he were a dad to, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Ben, Jr., Louis, and Joe Moten.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Moten will be placed in the church on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Salem Missionary Baptist Church 320 West Fulton Street Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Dr. Cartrell Woods, Jr., Pastor, Officiating.

Interment will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 9am.

Family will receive friends at the home, 130 Perkins Avenue Sumter, SC 29150.
