Vivian B. Edwards, the daughter of the late Miley Scriven and Janie Scriven Bethel , was born on March 3, 1936, she departed this life on January 27, 2017.
She was the widow of the late Leroy Edwards.
She was educated in the public schools of Hampton and Sumter, South Carolina. She attended Mathis Primary School in Hampton and Lincoln High School in Sumter, SC.
At an early age she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior . She has always had a special relationship with the Lord, and her faith was the most important part of her daily life. She made sure that her children embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior . Quote: "As for me and my house we will serve the LORD".
Vivian worked as a domestic worker for many years from which she retired. She also worked as a school crossing guard in the late sixties and early seventies. She also was employed with Sumter Laundry in the late nineties.
She loved to have all of her family and friends around her. Everyone that came to her home were welcome and treated life family. She really enjoyed fishing with her special sister-in-law, Eva Purdue and special friend Louise Miller. She shared a special bond with her sister, Rosa Lee, they both enjoyed spending time together. Vivian also had a special friendship with the late Marvin Ballard and Connie Ballard.
She leaves to cherish her memories; six children, Leroy Edwards Jr., Audrey (Tyrone) Brunson, Perry (Helen) Edwards, Mark Edwards, Antoinette Farmer, Joshua (Cynthia) Edwards, and a special son, Robert Tindal; loving sister, Rosa Lee Hairston; eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren who were very near and dear to her heart; a host of other relatives and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her domestic partner, Israel Tindal, whom she shared 21 years of life with, two brothers, Bryant Bethel and Ronald Bethel.

Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Ms. Edwards will be placed in the church on Wed. at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Wed. Feb. 1, 2017 at 11am at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Marion Newton, Officiating
Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
