Mrs. Virginia L. Johnson, affectionately called "Noot", the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel and Flora Solomon Lesane was born March 10, 1940 in Mayesville, South Carolina. On Sunday afternoon August 13, 2017 at 4:33pm, God in his infinite wisdom and divine love called our beloved Virginia to depart from this earthly life and enter into His Holy Arms.
At an early age, Virginia accepted Christ as her personal savior and became a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church (USA), in Mayesville, South Carolina.
She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.
Mrs. Johnson was united in Holy Matrimony to the Isaac Johnson Sr. and to this union six children were born.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Bennie Johnson of the home, Felix (Michelle) Johnson of Sumter, two daughters, Mary Lou and Amy Jean Johnson of Mayesville, SC. and one special son, Jahnei Benjamin. With such a loving heart, Virginia also assisted in the rearing of her nieces and nephews, David, Willie, and Sam Lesane, Barbara Benjamin, Gladys Ricks, Betty McBride, and a special godson, Lorenzo Lesane of the United States Navy; two sisters, Mary Ellen Dinkins, of Chicago, Illinois and Hattie Montgomery of Mayesville, South Carolina, 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren in addition to four special grandchildren and 9 special great grandchildren and one brother-in-law, Dave Cooks of Lynchburg, South Carolina. Also to cherish her memory are two special friends; Mary Robinson and Mary Lou Fullard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also proceeded in death by two sons; Leon Johnson and Isaac Johnson Jr.; one brother, Irvin "ID" Lesane; seven sisters, Rosa "Nina" Lesane Fludd, Henrietta "Coote" Lesane Durant, Fannie, "Dicke" Lesane Smith, Lillian "Lilly" Lesane Weary, Cornelia "Nana" Lesane Cooks, Berlease "Bee" Lesane Benjamin and Creole "Sweet" Lesane Johnson.
Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 3-7pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Johnson will be placed in the church on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11am at Trinity Presbyterian Church (USA), 136 S. Main St., Mayesville, SC 29104, Rev. Othan Franklin, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Mayesville Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the home, 2175 Avenue A, Mayesville, SC 29104.
