Vernon Rodriquez "Rod" Davis, son of Vernon L. Davis and Virginia Toney was born on November 6, 1987 in Sumter, SC. He departed this life on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at his home in Sumter.

"Rod" was educated in the public schools of Lee County and was a 2006 graduate of Lee Central High School. While attending Lee Central, he was active in JROTC and a member of the school band drum line. Vernon entered the U.S. Army Reserve on December 17, 2009 and earned the rank of Sergeant. He also attended and was a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, TN.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Virginia Toney and his father, Vernon L Davis; a sister, Kelonda Renee Davis of Sumter, SC; two brothers, Chauncey Q. McCoy (Monica) and Telvin (Sonya)Williams; two loving grandmothers, Naomi Toney and Elizabeth McFadden; four godchildren: Curtis, Gabrielle, Jasmin, and Kayden; two special cousins, Sautinio "Markey" Oliver and Belinda "Cricket" Crenshaw; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Davis will be placed in the church on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Theodora Black Officiating.

Family will receive friends at the home, 324 Wendemere Drive Sumter, SC 29153.
