Deacon Thomas Hoover Budden, affectionately known as "Hoover", was born on December 23, 1928 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Deacon Willie Sr. and Deaconess Daisy Budden. On July 18, 2021, Hoover entered eternal rest and was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by his children at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Larry Lehrman.

He was raised in a loving, religious, nurtured home in a hard-working family. He accepted Christ in his youth and joined Enon Baptist Church (currently Enon Missionary Baptist Church) which was the foundation of his spiritual growth and development.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary. Masks are required.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 South Salem Avenue, Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. James Goodman Presiding and Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Canty, Sr., Eulogist.

Interment will follow in Cain Cemetery.
