Mr. Thomas Wesley Bellinger Sr. was born July 12, 1940 in Columbia, S.C. He was the son of the late Eugene and Edna Harrell Bellinger. He transitioned from this life into eternal rest Friday, February 23, 2018.

He was a graduate of the Booker T. Washington H.S. class of 1958. He went on to complete a one year course in Medical  Technology at Good Samaritan-Waverly Hospital. After graduation, he was employed at Community Hospital in Sumter, S.C., where he met the love of his life, Gladys Vaughn. They were united in marriage for fifty seven years and to this loving union two children were born : Thomas Wesley Bellinger Jr. and Regina Bellinger Tucker.

Thomas and Gladys relocated to Queens, N.Y. While there, he was employed at Bulova Watch Company for many years. After leaving there, he was employed at Con Edison Electric Company. After retirement, Thomas and Gladys relocated back to Sumter, S.C.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Gladys; son,Thomas Wesley Bellinger Jr., of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter ,Regina (Quinn) Tucker of Sumter, S.C.; four brothers: Leon Bellinger of Queens, N.Y., John (Phyllis) Bellinger of Deer Park, N.Y., Larry (Lydia) Bellinger of Oakland, CA and Aaron Bellinger of Columbia, S.C.; four sisters: Ethel Collins of Columbia, S.C., Beverly (Howard) Gottlieb of Kingston, N.Y., Constance McCarthy of Columbia, S.C. and Cynthia (Chris) Fleming of San Leando, CA; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends and a special friend Kizer Sumpter.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Eugene and Edna Harrell Bellinger, four brothers: William, Robert, Eugene, and Reginald Bellinger, and two sisters, Zelma Matthews and Bernice Evans.

There will be no public viewing for Mr. Thomas Bellinger

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11am at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S Salem Avenue, Sumter, SC, with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Sumter, SC.

Family will receive friends at 3060 Line Street, Sumter, SC 29153.
