Theola Polite Wilson, 91, eldest child of Charles and Winnie Nelson Polite and stepdaughter to James Bradford, was born on October 16, 1927 in Sumter, SC.  She transitioned peacefully to her eternal home on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Theola received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and retired from Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC.  She began her spiritual journey at an early age as a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ as her personal savior. In her early years, Theola was joined in union to the late Henry Nelson Sr., and later married the late John Edward Wilson, Sr.

Loving memories will be cherished by her daughter, Annette Nelson McKenzie of Charlotte, NC; sons: Frank (Diane) Nelson, Willie Nelson both of Bridgeport, Ct, and Sammie Nelson of Manning, SC; god-daughter, Thelma Wells Howell (Kelvin) of Gastonia, NC; special son-in-law, Cosby Z. McKenzie of Charlotte, NC; step-daughter, Tracy (Frank) Guzman of Wingdale, NY; step-sons: John Wilson, Jr, Anthony (Debra)Wilson, Tony (Joyce) Wilson all of Sumter, SC and Vincent (LeYuani) Wilson of Richmond VA; sisters: Annie Mae Wells, Amy Wilder, Helen Prince all of Sumter, SC; and adopted sister, Inez Taylor of Clarendon County, SC; brothers, Clarence and Robert Bradford of Sumter, SC; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and spouse, Theola was preceded in death by her son, Lucky Polite; extended children: Annie Bell Hicks, Raymond Nelson and Christina Wright; siblings: James Polite, Willie Polite, William Polite, Walter Bradford and Margaret Bradford.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 2pm – 6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Wilson will be place in the church on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 10331 Plowden Mill Rd, Alcolu, SC 29001 with Rev. Hazel Charles, Pastor and Eulogist, and Rev. Otis Blackwell Officiating.

Intermittent will follow in the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home of her sister Amy Wilder, 3580 Britton-Brogdon Rd. Sumter, SC 29153
