God made a special visit to Ms. Teka Lekia Rhinehart Alston of Wedgefield, South Carolina, and took her home with Him on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Ms. Alston was born on August 1, 1980 in Sumter County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Jennifer (Eddie) Jones and the late Eugene Rhinehart Jr.
Teka was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She was a 1999 graduate of Sumter High School, and attended Central Carolina Technical College.
At a very early age, she and her family were members of the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church of Sumter. While attending Jehovah, she attended church faithfully and participated in various ministries.
Teka was employed for many years at Sykes Enterprises as a supervisor. She also worked at the GATES gas station on Liberty Street and most recently at the El Cheapo Gas Station on North Main Street as a sales associate.
Many loving and wonderful memories are left to her adorable son, Koran Eugene Rich of the home; her loving mother, Mrs. Jennifer B. Jones and step-father, Mr. Eddie Jones; her sisters: Tenika (Johnathan) Chambers of Columbia, SC, Gina L. McKnight of Lauderhill, FL, Jennifer A Jones of New York, Karen Rhinehart and Tiffany Alston both of Sumter, SC; three brothers: Eugene Rhinehart III, Fredrick Johnson, and Jahrod McLeod all of Sumter, SC; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Annie Mae (James) Choice of Sumter, SC; uncles: Raleigh C. Brunson of Atlanta, GA, Crandall A. Choice of Phoenix, AZ and Charles H. Rhinehart, Sr. of Sunrise, FL; aunts: Glenda (Stanley) Phillips, Carolyn (Ordley Jr.) Heatley, Ralean (Goliath Jr.) Brunson, all of Sumter, SC., Lucy R. (Raymond) Thomas of Lauderhill, FL, Ruby R. (Ralph) Rachels of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Brenda R. (Ranzy) Richardson, Beverly R. Washington, Cynthia R. (Roy) Graham, Vivian (Carlos) Fernandez, Cynthia (Wallace) Wright, Villia Jones, Demita Jones all of Sumter, SC, and Clealia Jones of New York; her best friend, Toneka Reed and her children; and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her father, Teka was preceded in death by one brother, Derrick Johnson; her grandparents, Mr. Raleigh Brunson, Mr. Eugene Rhinehart, Sr., and Mrs. Janie Mae Rhinehart; great-grandparents, Mrs. Geneva H. Scarborough, Mr. Jessie Scarborough, and Mr. London Hammond.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at First Baptist Missionary Church 219 South Washington Street Sumter, SC, with Pastor George P. Windley Officiating, and Pastor Ricky Simmons, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 4361 Granada Drive Sumter, SC.
