Shanna Renee Pitts was born on July 15, 1970 in Wedgefield, SC to her parents Annie Mae Brown and Jimmy Williams. She departed this earthly life on Sunday September 25, 2016 at her home in Sumter County. She was surrounded by her loving family. She won her fight against cancer and has earned her "Angel Wings".
Shanna accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very early age. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church (Shaw) and most recently, she attended New Covenant Fellowship Ministries located in Sumter, SC under the leadership of the late Pastor Michael Neely and current Pastor Reverend Lenora Bonaparte.
She received her formal and secondary education from the public schools of Sumter County; Delaine and Cherryvale Elementary, High Hills Middle, Ebenezer Jr. High and earned her high school diploma from Hillcrest High School located in Dalzell, SC in 1988. She established relationships with numerous of close friends that lasted throughout her adult years. Shanna graduated from Chris Logan Beauty College in 1991. She was self-employed as a Licensed Cosmetologist. She retired after 25 years of loyal service due to health related issues.
Shanna was united in Holy Matrimony to Marion Pitts Jr. on May 24, 2001.
On October 23, 1996 God blessed Shanna with a beautiful daughter, Shayla Rosann Williams whom she adored and cherished. Shanna was a devoted mother and her legacy will live on forever within her daughter Shayla.
Shanna leaves to cherish her memory loving and devoted parents, Ralph (Annie Mae) Brown of Sumter, SC; Jimmy Williams of Wedgefield, SC; beautiful daughter, Shayla R. Williams of Sumter, SC; four sisters, Tracey (William) Vaughn, Brenda Temple, Veronica McClintock, and Selena (Pherneco) Myers all of Sumter, SC; one brother, Jammie (Jamica) Williams of Sumter, SC; five aunts, Mary Lou (Richard) Hill, Louise (Alex) Jacob, Catherine (Freeman) Garrick, Evelyn(Jimmy) Dow, and Diane Wright all of Sumter, SC; three special friends, Letha Anderson of Cotton Acres, SC, Jennifer Conyers of Columbia, SC and Derrick Mack of Sumter, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, special classmates, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal parents, Grandason and Rosa Wright; Paternal grandparents, Martin and Mary Williams; one brother, Carlous Carnell (Hitto) Williams, and a number of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Public Viewing will he held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 2-7pm at Job's Mortuary.
Ms. Pitts will be placed in the church on Thurs. at 12noon for viewing until the hour service.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 1PM at Bethesda Church of God 2730 Broad Street, Sumter with Reverend Jeanette Collins, Officiating
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Family will be receiving friends at the home 355 North St. Paul Church Road, Sumter
