August 9, 1928 – February 17, 2019
Sis. Sarah Ann Robinson Gregg was born August 9, 1928 to the late Mr. Joseph and Lonnie Bell Canty Robinson in Sumter, South Carolina. She was united in holy matrimony for 53 years to the late Mr. George Gregg, Jr., and to this union they were blessed with five sons. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina.
She attended the public schools in Mayesville, South Carolina.
Sister Gregg accepted Christ as his personal Savior early in life and was a lifelong member of Beulah African Methodist Episcopal Church. While at Beulah, she was a dedicated member of the Women's Missionary Society, Ladies' Club, Lay Organization, Church School, Stewardess and Usher Board. Her greatest joy was singing and being a part of the Senior Choir.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three devoted sons: Willie (Patricia) Gregg, Robert Lee (Bernadine) Gregg, and Henry L. Gregg all of Sumter, SC; one sister, Mary A. Robinson; one brother Bobby Robinson, both of Sumter, SC; a very special friend, Harry McLeod; three very special friends who were just like sisters: Eartha Mae Holmes, Nellie LeSane and Emma Josie; two sisters-in-law, Min. Mary Lee Watkins of New York and Maybell (Robert) Loney; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; a special niece, Branda Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sis Sarah was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy Gregg and Infant Baby Lee Gregg; three grandchildren: Chrishonda Gregg and twins, Cedric and Frederic Gregg; two brothers, Henry and Harry Robinson; two sisters, Ethelean Robinson and Josephine Charles; four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Gregg will be placed in the church on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Beulah AME Church, 3175 Florence Highway Sumter, SC 29153, with Rev. Dr. Dwayne Bruce, Pastor, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Beulah Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the home of her son, 36 Neal Street Sumter, SC 29150.
