Samuel Lee "Shorty" Reardon, son of the late Harry and Estelle Reardon was born on December 4, 1948 in Clarendon County. He departed this life on Sunday, October 6, 2019.

Samuel received Christ at an early age. He attended the public schools of Sumter county. Samuel was employed by Wise Construction until he retired. Later, he became a self-employed painter.

Samuel was joined in holy matrimony to Clara Gamble Reardon and from this union, two children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Clara G. Reardon; a son Deriek (Sharon) Reardon of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Sharon (Richard) Dozier-Allen of Lynchburg, SC; five loving sisters: Maggie (McArthur) McFadden of Columbia, SC, Reba (Runard) Nelson of Lynchburg, SC, Odell (Donald) Wilson of Dalzell, SC, Wilhelmenia (Allen) Conely of Brooklyn, New York, and Jacquelynette (John) Durant of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren: Richard Dozier, Jailyn Reardon, Richard Allen, Alexandria Allen, Aliyah Cribb, Jamicah Bradley, and Lorenzo Harris; five great-grandchildren; two aunts; a special brother and sister-in-law, Treadway and Mary Ann Gamble; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Samuel was preceded in death by a brother, Simon Reardon.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Reardon will be placed in the church on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 1:30pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Oak Grove AME Church 1709 Burnt Branch Road Lake City, SC 29560, with Pastor Oliver Davis, Jr. Officiating.

Interment will follow in New McFadden Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home 8515 Fullard Street Lynchburg, SC 29080.
