November 7, 1944 – July 5, 2019
Samuel Marvin Lowery, son of the late Willie and Mary Eva Epps Lowery, Jr., was born on November 7, 1944 in Clarendon County, SC.
Sam attended the public schools of Clarendon County and was a member of Lodabar AME Church in his youth.
In his former years, Sam was employed with the Jackson Brothers Scott & Ralph Jackson Farm for many years. He saw that life was leading him in a new direction, so he went into the heating and air business. "Trane," as everyone would called him, installed units for Palmetto Heating and Air, now named "Advance Heating & Air" for over 35 years.
On Friday morning, July 5, 2019, Sam entered eternal rest at his residence.
Samuel leaves to cherish his memory one son, Samuel Lowery, Jr. (Kim); one daughter, April Nicole Lowery; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers: Joseph (Evelyn) Witherspoon of Gable, SC, James Lowery of Sumter, SC, John Lowery (Elizabeth) of Selma, NC, Kenneth Lowery of Summerton, SC, William Lowery of Greenville, SC, Charles Lowery of Elizabeth City, NC; a special niece, Debra (Anthony) Wilson of the home; a special nephew, Barry Nelson of Spring Valley, NY, a niece that helps and cares for him, Paula Green of Sumter, SC; two aunts, Katherine McFadden of Gable, SC and Pearline Lowery of New Zion, SC; two uncles, Robert Epps of Columbia, SC and James Epps of Spring Valley, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Lowery will be placed in the church on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church 805 South Harvin Street Sumter, SC, with Pastor Marion H. Newton Officiating, and Pastor Ricky Simmons, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in Lodabar Church Cemetery
Family will receive friends at the home, 1999 Ashby Road Sumter, SC 29154.
Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
