Mr. Samuel Ray Johnson, Jr., son of Mr. Samuel Ray Johnson, Sr. and Betty Joy Stevenson, was born on March 5, 1970 in Abilene, Texas. He departed this life on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Sumter East Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sumter, SC.

During Samuel's high school years, he played the trumpet as a member of the marching band and was also a member of the varsity soccer team. In 1988, Samuel aka "Ray-Ray" graduated from Hirschi High School in Wichita Falls, TX. After graduation, he attended DeVry University in Irving, TX and later transferred to Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter, SC, where he completed his Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. Ray-Ray worked for more than 20 years in the field of EET and during that time, he was employed by Schneider Electric, Computer Sciences Corporation, Boeing and Eulawit Communications. He also owned a cell phone/pager repair shop for a while.

Ray-Ray was a very outspoken person, who never met a stranger. He also loved to spend quality time with family and friends. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed spending time dancing, singing, hunting and fishing. Ray-Ray touched many lives and will be remembered always.

He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Marco Lorenzo (Kayla) Johnson ; four grandchildren: Payton, Aubree, Kalii and Keylee; a mother, Betty J. (Floyd) Stevenson ; a father, Samuel R. (Ann) Johnson, Sr. ; four sisters: Luna E. (Orlando) Velez , Charlotte L. (Craig) Burse , Marsha S. Johnson-Davis and Jennifer (Kevin) Spann ; four brothers: Larry (Wendy) Burroughs, Barry Burroughs, Anthony Burroughs and Kevin (Sandra) Petty; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 12noon on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Job's Mortuary Parlor 312 South Main Street Sumter, SC 29150.
