Sammie Lee Pinkney, widower of Nellena Alleyne Pinkney was born on November 5, 1947 in Sumter, SC to the late Calvin and Gertie Mae Pinkney. He departed this life on June 29, 2017.

In early 1967 Sammie and Gloria Randolph of Sumter, SC moved to Philadelphia, PA, they were united in Holy Matrimony in March 1967 and to this union one son was born.

Sammie was a member of Moores Memorial Baptist Church of Philadelphia, PA where he served faithfully on the senior usher board.

He was employed by Films Inc, of Philadelphia, PA for many years. Later, he started his own cleaning business.

His love and fond memories will be cherished by his son, Alvin (Vernell) Randolph of Hope Mill, NC; two granddaughters, two grandsons, four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva (James) Childrey, Eleanor Smith of Philadelphia, PA, and Mildred (James) Rogers of Darby, PA; three brothers, Leon Pinkney of Philadelphia, PA, Joseph Pinkney, and Leroy (Mary) Pinkney of Sumter, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, close family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Roselle McDaniel and Hattie Epps, four brothers, Moses, James, John Calvin (JC) and Jerome.

Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Pinkney will be placed in the church on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 1pm at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Ave. Sumter with Rev. O.J. Hannah, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
