Mrs. Rutdenia Durant Bouknight, daughter of Cleveland Durant, Sr. and the late Annie Lee Durant Cross, was born on July 24, 1966 in Sumter, SC. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.

Mrs. Bouknight attended Sumter High School in Sumter, SC. She later worked as a dispatcher for Sumter Yellow Cab Services, in addition to Cooper Tools Industrial. Mrs. Bouknight was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Rutdenia was united in marriage for 24 years to Larry Bouknight.

She is survived by three daughters: Santana R. (Treginald T.) Durant Goldsmith, Felicia N. Durant, and Latonya Samuel; in addition to a special daughter, Nakia Boler; a god daughter, Tomeka Abrams; ten grandchildren: Sha'Deashia O.R., Ty'Tasia Z., Ty'Reginald N., Ja'Bari, Rutdenia, and Samaria Durant, Sha'Hailya T. Goldsmith, Dylique Sanders, Dominique Samuel, and James Samuel III; seven sisters: Lula Mae Sigler of Sumter, SC, Ethel Hays of Brooklyn, NY, Doris English of Columbia, SC, Grander T. Durant, Janice (Herbert) Wells, Doris (Willie) Shaw, and Mary Lee Shropshire; four brothers: Cleveland Durant, Jr., Gregory Durant, Joseph Durant, and Layzarues (Taccarra) Durant; a special uncle, Johnny Lee Bradley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and supportive friends.

Rutdenia was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Bradley, Jr.

Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Bouknight will be placed in the church on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Dr. Otis Butler, Jr., Officiating.

Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 861 Carolina Avenue Apt #33 Sumter, SC 29150.
