Rosa Mae Witherspoon was born on November 27, 1936 in Pinewood, SC to the late Frankie and Sarah Billie Shaw. She was raised by the late Thomas Fannie Brown along with their children. She was the wife of Jessie Witherspoon of Philadelphia, PA. Rosa departed her earthly journey on Friday, April 13, 2018 in the Peak Center Nursing Home in Colorado Springs, CO.

Rosa Mae leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Jessie Witherspoon of Philadelphia, PA; one loving son of the home, George Witherspoon of Colorado Springs, CO; one brother, Robert Brown of Pittsburg, PA; three sisters: Victoria Gallishaw of Dalzell, SC, Martha Gregg of Sumter, SC, and Virginia Kind of Sumter, SC; two sisters- in-law, Mary Billie of Wilson, NC and Jametta Brown of Sumter, SC; a special cousin, Mary Mellette.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Charlie Billie, Jimmie Lee Thomas, (Jr) Brown; sisters: Rosa Lee Burch, Hattie Dwyer, Lillie Mae McFadden-Haynesworth, and Fannie Times.

Public Viewing will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Witherspoon will be placed in the church on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Beulah UME Church, 2380 S St. Pauls Church Road Sumter, SC, with Rev. Jonathan Smith Officiating.

Interment will follow in Beulah Haynesworth Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Martha Gregg, 223 West Williams Street Sumter, SC after 11am daily.
