Ronald M. Sumter, son of the late Johnnie Sumpter Jr and Annie Lee Singleton Davis and stepson of Lee Davis, was born on October 6, 1961 in Sumter, SC. He departed his life on July 6, 2023 in Miami, Florida.

Ronald attended the public schools of Sumter, SC. He was a 1978 graduate of Hillcrest High School, and attended the Sumter County Career Center studying welding. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran, where he was an aircraft mechanic.

Ronald was an avid reader and enjoyed having candid conversations on the latest topics.

He is survived by his mother, Annie Lee Singleton Davis and stepfather Lee Davis of Sumter, SC; three brothers: Eric Sumpter (Bessie), Christopher Sumpter of Sumter, SC, Craig Davis (Tanisha) of Lithonia, GA; two sisters, Gwen Davis (Stanley) of Sumter, SC and Angela Yvonne Sumpter of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

There will be a private burial for the family.

Family will receive friends at his mother's residence from 6-8pm.
