SFC (Ret.) Ronald "Ronnie" Arnett Burgess, Sr., 56, beloved husband of Louvander Lisa Burgess, departed this life on Wednesday March 21, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. He was born on January 30, 1962, in Sumter, South Carolina. Ronnie was the son of Dorothy Burgess and the lateArnett Burgess. He was a graduate of Sumter High School, Class of 1980. After he graduated, he was employed at Georgia Pacific and then joined the United States Army of which he retired after 23 years of honorable service.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Dorothy Burgess, his loving wife of 37 years, his children: Rolandra (Derrick) Williams, Ronzlynn Burgess, Rhonda (Desmond) Blanding, and Ronald Burgess, Jr.,his three grandchildren, who he loved dearly, Daymian, Damiyah, and Daliyah Blanding, all of Sumter, SC.Ronnie is also survived by two "brothers" Marvin McFadden of Atlanta, GA, and William "Billy" Richardson of Frederick, MD, loving cousins, and a host ofother relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnett Burgess,and in-laws Louis and Lillie Mae Pitts, and Leon Pitts.

Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 1-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Burgess will be placed in the church at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11am at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Ave, Sumter, SC 29150 with Minister Kenneth Choice, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.

Family will be receiving friends at the  home 4299 Dorsey Drive, Sumter, SC.
