Ron Kenneth "Kenny" Wilson transitioned from this life on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Palmetto Health Richland to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1975, in Sumter County, a son of the late Lonnie Bell and Ruby C. Wilson. He was formally educated at R.E. Davis and Mayewood High School. In 1993, upon graduation, Kenny was employed in numerous jobs: Mayer Industrial, Cooper Tools and Spirax/Sarco. He later became owner of L&R Transporting Services LLC. His hobbies included landscaping and mechanics and he found a challenge in fixing anything that was broken. Kenny was a very loving, caring, gentle soul who tried to help in any way that he could.
He leaves to cherish in loving memory: one sister, Rosalind Howard of Sumter; three brothers, Herbert Howard of Hempstead, New York, Mark Wilson of Anderson, Alabama, and Sherman Wilson Sr. of Sumter; three adopted children; six aunts; two uncles; three nieces; six nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Lonnie Bell and Ruby C. Wilson, Kenny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carrie Lee Childs and Ollie and Sarah (Kate) Wilson; two uncles, Ben Coats and Willie Coats; and five aunts, Verlen Wilson, Bertha Cotton, Eva Troublefield, Virginia Leneau and Bertha Singleton.
Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Wilson will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral services will held at 4 p.m. on Friday at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, 805 S. Harvin St., with Pastor Marion H. Newton officiating and the Rev. Bobby Walters, eulogist.
Interment will follow in Mulberry Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at the home, 1760 Gaymon Road, Sumter.
