Rickey Lee Smith, son of Mary Lee Johnson and the late William Smith was born on June 26, 1963 in Sumter County. He departed this life Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey in Sumter, SC.
Rickey Lee attended the Public Schools of Sumter County. He was employed by Santee Print Company for many years. He later became employed by Dixie Products and Evergreen Cemetery. He was a very talented, skillful worker. He was always willing to help whenever he could. His special hobbies were gardening and fishing.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his beloved mother of the home, Mary Lee Smith; three brothers: William Smith, Carl Smith of the home, and David Smith of Sumter, SC; eight aunts: Marie Gray and Daisy (Cornelius) Clay of New London, CT, Gennett (Lawrence) Singleton, Irene (Pelzer) Goodwater of Holly Hill, SC, Matilda Smith, Mary Lou (Frank) Maple, Mary E. Smith and Betty Council of Sumter, SC; a special and beloved friend, Gracie Sinkler. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Smith will be placed in the church on Friday at 12pm for viewing until the hour service.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 1pm at Wayman Chapel AME Church, Rev. Dr. Dennis Broughton, Jr., Officiating.
Interment will follow in Wayman Chapel AME Church Cemetery.
