Richard Johnson, husband of Loretta B. Johnson, departed this life on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Palmetto Health Tuomey, Sumter, S.C. He was born in Sumter, SC on August 3, 1947 to the late Willie R. Johnson and Zenia A. Johnson.

Richard was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, where he served on The United Methodist Men, Male Choir, Usher Board and the Trustee Board.

He was employed with Roadway Express and retired after thirty-three years.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Loretta B. Johnson of the home; four sons, Jermaine Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Derrick (Shari) Johnson of Sumter, SC, Gerard X. Johnson of Philadelphia, PA, and Matthew (Ryan) Johnson of Norfolk, VA; five grandchildren; eleven brothers; five sisters; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 2-7pm at Job's Mortuary.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 11am at St. James United Methodist Church 720 Broad Street, Sumter with Pastor Rev. Cheryl G. Johnson, Officiating
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park
