Reynold "Ray" Lowery was born June 30, 1955 in Lynchburg, SC to the late Alex "Nige" and Tamor Moses Lowery.  God in His infinite wisdom called Ray to his home of eternal rest on April 8, 2022.

Being reared in a loving home he received his education in the public schools of Lee County and  was a member of St. Peter AME Church of Mayesville.  He was a member of the Sons of Allen and other organizations where he served faithfully.   Ray had a passion for helping people and was employed by Reeves Brother,  Burlington Menwear both of Bishopville and Standard (Invista) of Camden.

In addition to his church and work he was dedicated to his family and was a father figure to his many nieces and nephews.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his dedicated and loving wife Icybell Dickey Lowery, three sons: Dwayne Dickey of Lynchburg, SC, Kendrick (LaSandra) Geddis of Mayesville, SC, and Chadwick (Wendi) Geddis of Bishopville, SC;  one daughter Gloria Monique Geddis of Lynchburg, SC; one sister Shirley (Charles) Goodman of Lynchburg, SC; one brother William Eugene Lowery of Bishopville, SC; four  sisters-in-law,  five brothers-in-law, a number of grandchildren, Dauneshia, DeTarras, Dwayleka, Dwy-Alisha, Dway-Quan, Jada, Keny, Dayvid, Mi'Yanna, Kia, Keosh, KaQuan, Lamonica, Xarvier, Sincere, Mye, Kye, Shanlin, Demarqus; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and close friends.

In addition to his parents, he  was preceded in death by two brothers, a grandson, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Friday, April 15, 2022 at Salem Chapel and Heritage Center

101 South Salem Avenue, Sumter, SC 29150.

Interment will follow in St. Peter AME Church, Mayesville, SC 29104

Family will receive friends at the home 3102 Lynchburg Hwy, Lynchburg, SC 29080
