Ossie Lucille McLeod, 51, affectionately known as "Dootney," was born on January 22, 1968 in Sumter, SC to the late Bennie and Mary Cabbagestalk McLeod. Ossie transitioned to final rest on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, SC.

Ossie attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Hillcrest High School. She then received her associate's degree from Central Carolina Technical College.

"Dootney" had a passion for cooking, gardening, and enjoyed spending time with "her babies": Micha, Mason, and Kyle, who referred to her as "NuNu!" She was loved deeply by many.

Ossie leaves to mourn her passing: one daughter, Jiyarien O'Shay McLeod of Sumter, SC; two brothers, Thomas (Patricia) Cabbagestalk and Warren (Theresa) Dicks both of Sumter, SC; one sister, Mary Dicks Johnson of Sumter, SC; two uncles, James (Bernice) Cabbagestalk and Willie (Louette) Cabbagestalk; two aunts, Elsie (James) Jennings and Carrie (Bobby) Tention; two special aunts, Ruby Cabbagestalk and Dorothy Cabbagestalk; nieces and nephews: Tania, Lashunda, Jermaine, Eric, Dejon, Brittany, Yaiere, Dashawn, and Keion; grand nieces and nephews: Deangillis, Deshawn, Bryce, Brianna, Kyleeq, Aarreon, and Maddison; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Cabbagestalk; her brother, Gordon McLeod; one aunt; three uncles; and one great aunt.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Ms. McLeod will be placed in the church on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Dr. Friendly J. Gadson Officiating.

Family will receive friends at the home, 222 Westbury Mill Road Sumter, SC 29153.
