Obituary

Nettie Mae Coakley departed this life on December 31, 2017 at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital in Columbia, SC. Born in Lee County on February 4, 1955 , she was the youngest daughter of the late Joe and Nettie Bacote Coakley.

She graduated from Mayewood high school in 1973 and attended both Claflin College and the University of South Carolina. She was employed at Job's Mortuary until illness forced her to retire. She was a member of the Irmo Church of God where she made God her priority. She loved family time with her grandchildren. The three of them were her world.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory a loving and devoted daughter Kenyatta Brown Washington (Derrick) of Frederick, Maryland; her grandsons; Keaton and Karter, granddaughter, Kennedy all of Frederick, Maryland; one sister, Edna Coakley of Charlotte , NC ; three brothers; Isaac Bacote (Christine) and Joseph Coakley of Jersey City, NJ; Willie Coakley (Earline) of Sumter, SC; Godson Juan McCoy of Columbia, SC; one aunt Marie Smalls, and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Bacote and George Bacote.
Family will be having visitation on Wednesday Jan 3, 2018 at Job's Mortuary from 5-7pm. and on Thursday Jan 4, 2018 at the church one hour before the service 1-2pm

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2pm at Irmo Church of God 10215 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC 29063 with Pastor Randy Coudler, Officiating
