McKinley "Kenzie" Brogdon, Sr. was born the third of six children to the late Sod and Daisy Roman Brogdon, Sr. on March 4, 1950 in Sumter, South Carolina. Kenzie departed his earthly life on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his residence.

Kenzie was educated in the public schools of Sumter, South Carolina, and was a 1969 graduate of Eastern High School. He was formerly employed at Bosch Corporation of Sumter, South Carolina and UTI/Invista of Camden, South Carolina. Kenzie was most recently employed by the Sumter School District.

Precious memories will be shared by his two sons, McKinley Brogdon, Jr. of the home and Channon Brogdon of Asheville, North Carolina; two daughters, Elder Tabitha Brogdon of Lithonia, Georgia and Tonetta Hunt of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; eight grandchildren: Laken Halley, McShayla Brogdon, Nigel Brogdon all of Sumter, South Carolina, Amilyah Harris of Asheville, North Carolina, Erica Tobin, Christopher Tobin, V'ladell Rhames all of Lithonia, Georgia, and Jakala Gates of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; four sisters: Ruth Charles, Felicia (Alphonso) Brogdon Graham, Genovia Brogdon Thomas all of Sumter, South Carolina, and Lavetta (Fred) Brogdon Smith of Norcross, Georgia; one brother, Osteen Brogdon of Columbia, South Carolina; aunts and uncles: Aubrey Brogdon Johnson of New York, New York, Sadie (Willis) Roman White, Flora (Thomas) Roman York, Gloria (Lucius) Roman Felder, Johnnie "J.L." (Miriam) Roman, Barbara Roman Jackson and McKinley Wilson, Sr., all of Sumter, South Carolina; six nieces; two nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews; four great-great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and caring friends.

In addition to his parents, Kenzie was preceded in death by a brother, Saul "J.B." Brogdon, Jr., and a sister, Naomi Ruffle.
Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Brogdon will be placed in the church on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Frederick Graves Officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the home of his sister, 910 ReedRoman Road Sumter, SC 29153, from 4-9pm Daily.
