Matthew Ballard, Jr., 77, husband of Vanessa Jones Ballard and son of the late Matthew Ballard, Sr., and Addie Canty Ballard, was born in Brooklyn, NY.  He departed this life on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, GA.

The Body will lie in state on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 9am-11am at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue, Sumter, SC 29150

Interment will follow at Allen Chapel AME Churchyard Cemetery, Sumter, SC

Family will receive friends at 66 Albert Spears Drive, Sumter, SC 29150 and 10 Van Buren Street, Sumter, SC 29150
