Mrs. Mary D. Wilson, wife of Joe Wilson, Jr. and daughter of Bessie Lee Williams and the late David Lee Gregg, was born on April 6, 1954. On June 26, 2017, God sent his angel to pluck from his garden a rare and beautiful flower. She departed this earthly life at her home in Sumter, SC.
Mary, affectionately called Salley Sue, attended the public schools of Lee County. She was a 1972 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. Mary retired from Becton Dickinson after 30 years of service.
She loved being with her family. Mary enjoyed shopping, cooking, and planting her flowers. She was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Presbyterian Church, Mayesville, SC.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband of 45 years, Joe Wilson, Jr., from this union two daughters, Stephanie Shaw and Tasha (Robert) Solomon; one son, Joseph (Tomaki) Wilson, and from the marriage, three daughters, Regina (Robert) Donaldson, Jynel (Cory) Anderson, Terry (Christopher) Rouse, and one son, Carlos Wilson all of Fort Pierce, FL; five sisters, Elouise Porter of Savannah, GA, Doretha Williams, Bessie Mae Williams, Vermelle (Joseph) Singleton, Patricia McBride all of Sumter, SC; two brothers, Larry (Lisa) Williams, Hampton, VA, and Robert (Maggie) Anderson, Sumter, SC; six grandchildren, Willie J. Green, Jahkeem T. Green, a special granddaughter Aaliyah N. Wilson of the home, J'Andre Wilson, Ja'Quan Wilson, and Je'Veah Green; two brothers-in-law, Kevin (Linda) McDuffie, Joseph (Destiny) Dinkins; two special friends, Evelyn Gaines, Trish Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her stepfather, Nathaniel Williams, one sister, Madeline Williams, and two grandchildren, Rumor Wilson and Wiltron Green.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Wilson will be placed in the church on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11am at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 136 S. Main St., Mayesville, SC 29104, Pastor Othan Franklin, Officiating with Rev. Dr. Ella F. Busby, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in Mayesville Cemetery.
