Mary Abrams, an effervescent personality, was born on March 22, 1928 in Dillon, South Carolina. She departed this life to be with the Lord on May 4, 2019 at 6:55pm, after a brief illness.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, when she joined the First Baptist Missionary Church, under the leadership of Reverend William S. Randolph. She lived her life to the fullest and lived a life of faith and love.
Mary had numerous jobs, one of which was Eastern Star Nursing Home. She was also a care taker, caring for the elderly.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters: Princine Bradley, Bobby Fullard, and Delores Abrams; two sons, Lawrence (Laura) Bethea and Charlie Abrams; two sisters, Arethea Crawford of Philadelphia, PA and Queenie McLaughlin of Dillon, SC; one brother, Willie C. Bethea of Washington, DC; three sisters-in-law: Emma Mae Bethea of Dillon, SC, Betty (Fred) Green of Marion, SC, and Constance Abrams of Florence, SC; one daughter-in-law, Deldora; 163 grandchildren, three in which she had big hand in raising; Tracey, Toney, and Quanda; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren; a best friend, Sadie Josey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bell Abrams; her mother and parents, Rosie and Roe Buck Bethea; two sons, Ronnie and Willie Abrams; three daughters: Lillie Mae, Macdalene, and Francine; six brothers: Tommie C, James, David, Robert Lee, Bobby, Jr., and her twin brother, Joseph.
Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Abrams will be placed in the church on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, May 10, 2019 at First Baptist Missionary Church 219 South Washington Street Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor George Windley, Jr., Officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at the home of her daughters, 415 Robney Drive, Sumter, SC 29150 and 153 Cessna Street, Sumter, SC 29150
Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
