Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth China Wright, 87, youngest child of the late Frank China and Louise Bossard China, was born on September 22, 1930 in Sumter, SC. She departed this life on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Margaret was united in Holy Wedlock to Mr. James Wright who preceded her in death on their 47th Wedding Anniversary on January 26, 1996.

Margaret attended the public schools of Sumter County. She furthered her education at Central Carolina Technical College and earned a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Margaret was employed as a Housekeeper, babysitter, and cook. She retired on December 31, 2001 from Taco Bell.

Margaret loved the Lord. In her early youth, she was a member of the Beulah AME Church. Margaret later joined St. Mark Seventh-Day Adventist Church which is now Berea Seventh-Day Adventist Church under Dr. Calvin B. Rock.

Margaret served as a Deaconess, Usher, and a Choir Member. She was also active with the Cooking Committee. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 121:1-8.

Margaret's hobbies included cooking, cruising, fairs, family reunions, festivals, traveling, and gospel concerts.

Margaret was known for her big smile and hearty laugh. She loved her family and friends. She especially loved the little children.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son Edward (Alicia) Wright of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughters, Genovia China (Wilbur) Richardson of Washington, DC, Doris Ann Wright Waldon of Sanford, Florida, and Beverly Elizabeth Wright of the home; eleven grandchildren, Jacqueline Richardson, Wilbur Richardson, Jr., Lisa Richardson Spells, Yolanda Richardson, Edward Jabbard Wright, Latesha Waldon, Latonya Waldon, Latrese Waldon, Carlos Davis, Carla Davis, April Joy Wright; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jason Bailey, Lincoln Davis, Miles Davis, Jada Nathaniel, Darius Richardson, Dene' Richardson, Jerome Richardson, Keisha Richardson, Deion Waldon, Kayden Waldon, Jaiana Wright, Lena Wright, Zoey Wright, one great-great grandchild London Sator; one sister-in-law Chestina Chambers of Baltimore, Maryland; dear and best friend; Hattie Mae McCoy of Sumter, South Carolina and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Lillie Wright and Maxine Wright; seven siblings, Florence China Brunson, Lillie China Brunson, Flander China, Joseph China, Sr., Rosa Lee China Samuel, Alice China Lewis and Ervin China, Sr., and one son-in-law, Herald N. Walden.

Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Wright will be placed in the church on Sunday, November 26 at 12:30 pm until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 26 at 1:30 pm at Berea Seventh Day Adventist Church, 675 S. Lafayette Dr., Sumter, SC 29150 Pastor Michael Miller assisted by Pastor Marquis Jackson.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
