Obituary

MaeBell Wilson McCray , made her transition into eternal life on Thursday June 30, 2016, at the Hillside Manor Nursing and Long Term Care Facility in Jamaica, New York.

MaeBell Wilson McClary, the eldest daughter of the late McQuilla and Isabella Wilson was born on May 8, 1924, in Mayesville, S.C. She attended the Mayesville Institute School, Mayeville, SC; she received her early christian education and nuturing at Galilee Baptist Church, Mayesville, S.C.

On April 27, 1946, she married the late Martin L. McClary and they relocated to Brooklyn, N.Y. In the early 1950, she joined the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member for many years. In later years, she continued her spiritual journey at St Paul Baptist Church, in Brookyn, N.Y.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are: three daughters, Evon W. Gamble of Manning S.C., Lillie K. (Henry) Marwieh, of QueensVillage, N.Y., Gloria(Robert) McKee of Forest Hills, N.Y; seven grandchildren: Marilyn Andrews, Alisa R. (Timothy) Ramsey of Long Island, N.Y., Carolyn (Patrick) Mbajekwe, of Virginia, Pinkney Gamble Jr., of Manning S.C., James Gamble, of Manning, S.C., Mionnay McKee, of Bronx, N.Y. and Shavon C. Gamble, of Columbia, S.C.; three step-grandchildren: Tete Marwieh, of Woodhaven, N.Y., Franklin Marwieh, of Bronx, N.Y., N. Deddeh Dixon, of Jamaica Estates, N.Y.; a host of great-grands and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother; Samuel L. Wilson, and five sisters; Jessie Mae Fortune, Georgia Lee James, Wilena Jones, Corine Gibson and Almeta Johnson.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday July 7, 2016 from 2-6pm at Jobs' Mortuary. M s. McCray will be placed in the church on Friday at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service. Funeral Service will be held on Friday July 8, 2016 at 1pm at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S, Salem Ave Street, Sumter with Pastor Eugene Myers, Officiating. Interment will follow in Mayesville Cemetery.

Family will be receiving friends at 5936 June Burn Road, Manning, SC 29102.
