Lula Mae Gamble Thompson, daughter of the late Robert and Creola Gamble, was born October7, 1932 in Shiloh, SC. Lula Mae was joined in marriage to the late George Thompson. She graduated from the public-school system in Sumter County. She was a stay at home mom for a few years and then worked as a cook and line server for the WOMETCO Company in Sumter until retirement. A loving mother and devoted Christian, she joined and served at Mt. Sinai AME Church over 60 years as a member of multiple choirs, the Stewardess, Steward Emeritus, Gospel and Mass Choir, Church School Teacher, Class leader, for Women's Bible Study, and more. She was a foster parent to many children for 15 years or more.

On July 28th, 2017, she was told "well done", as she received her divine call from the Lord to rest from her earthly labor.

Left behind to mourn,but cherish her memory are six children, Terry Lee Thompson, Sharon G Thompson, Lindsey M Thompson, Frederick A Thompson (Javita), Melissa Thompson, and Belinda D. Thompson-White (Ardis); four Grandchildren, Wakeem Thompson (Brittany), Quenton Creer, Ahrehon Thompson, and Asonti Thompson; three siblings Andrew Gamble, Ineatha Graham, and Minnie Porter and a host of loving nieces,nephews, relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 1-7pm at Job's Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 4pm at Mt. Sinai AME Church, 4835 County Rd 43-59, Lynchburg, SC 29080.

Interment will follow in Edwards Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 2 Lakeside Dr., Sumter, SC 29150.
