Lucille S. Damon was born on October 6, 1935 to the late Murray and Lula Mae Scarborough. She departed this earthly life on May 26, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey in Sumter, SC.

Mrs. Damon was educated in the public schools of Lee County. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and became a member of Unionville AME Church, where she sung on the Jubilee Choir for numerous years, the Fourth Sunday Choir, served on Stewardess Board #4, and the Pastor's Pulpit Aid. She enjoyed cooking, watching baseball, Sanford and Son and Matlock.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to four daughters: Minnie Scarborough and Georgia Mae Damon of Mayesville, SC, Lillie Mae Damon of Sumter, SC, and Gloria Damon of Dalzell, SC; two sons, George Damon of Sumter, SC and Freddie Damon of Camden, SC; one stepson, Jackson (Gladys) Damon of Lynchburg, SC; one stepdaughter, Mary Washington of Elliott, SC; two nieces and a nephew she accepted as her own: Christine S. Jackson of Columbia, SC, Dorothy S. Wells of St. Charles, SC, and Levern Scarborough of Charlotte, NC; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Rogers of Mayesville, SC and Janie Wilson of Lamar, SC; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.

She will be truly be missed by Dr. & Mrs. James Durant and Ms. Lucy Butler.

In addition to her husband, Felix Damon, she was preceded in death by three sons: Felix Damon, Jr., Harry Lee Damon, and Sammie Lee Damon; seven sisters and eight brothers.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Damon will be placed in the church on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Pen Road Mayesville, SC 29104, with Pastor Alvin Webb Officiating, and Rev. Larry D. Clark, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in Unionville AME Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at her residence, 67 Hugh Road Mayesville, SC.
