Linda McBride Geter was born on April 25, 1962 to Minnie Scott and James (Dora) Parrot in Mayesville, SC. She was called to rest on September 23, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Linda graduated at the early age of 16 as a junior-senior in 1979 from Mt. Pleasant High of Elliott, SC. She worked over 18 years at Vaughn Bassett Furniture as a sprayer. After the plant closed, she became a Nursing Assistant at National HealthCare in Sumter, SC, where she worked until her health declined.

Linda was a member of the Mayesville Community Seniors and the Mayesville Community Coalition. She was a friendly, outgoing person, who made friends wherever she went. If you knew her, you knew she always had a story to tell.

Linda attended St. Peter AME Church at an early age. She later joined Tiverton Baptist Church after marriage.

Linda leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Willie Geter, Jr.; her daughters, Montanika (Willis) Goodman of Queens, NY and Shayla Geter of the home; her siblings: Darlene Traynham of NY, Martha Parrot, James (Mary) Parrot, Jeanette P. Milliner all of Dalzell, SC, Carolyn (Rev. Ernest) Brown and Larry Parrot both of Sumter, SC; grandchildren: Willis Goodman, Jr, Janay Goodman, and Malachi Geter; brothers-in-law: Mike, Chris, Elijah, and David; sisters-in-law, Megan and Buffy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrell Parrot and Earl Taylor; a brother-in-law, Timothy Milliner; and mother-in-law, Doris Geter.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Geter will be placed in the church on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Avenue Sumter, SC with Pastor Elijah Geter Officiating.

Interment will follow in Tiverton Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home 3960 Third Street Mayesville, SC.
