Mrs. Lillie Mae Tiller, 95, widower of Mr. Dudley Tiller, Sr. and daughter of the late Mr. Ellie, Sr. and Margaret Robinson McDonald, was born on November 1, 1924. She departed this life on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, SC.
She was educated in Lee County and was a member of St. Paul AME Church, until she met her beloved husband, Dudley, and joined him at Pine Hill AME Church in Sumter. Lillie served faithfully at Pine Hill for 70 years in various capacities to include: the Usher Board, Stewardess Board, Gospel and Senior Choirs, Women's Missionary Society and Trustee Board, until her health declined.
Lillie Mae leaves to cherish her precious and fond memories her children: two daughters, Barbara Ann Tiller and Dorothy Tiller both of Sumter, SC; two sons, Dudley (Betty) Tiller, Jr. and Edward Tiller both of Sumter, SC; two sisters: Mrs. Ethel Vaughn and Mrs. Betty (Herman) Hardy both of Sumter, SC; one brother, Eugene (Rosanna) McDonald of Ridgeway, SC; five sisters-in-law; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Mr. Leroy Tiller and Charles Tiller; five brothers: Earnest McDonald, Bobby McDonald, Valentine McDonald, Ellie McDonald, and James McDonald; and one sister, Ella Presley.
Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Tiller will be placed in the church on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held at 12noon on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Pine Hill AME Church 1505 Highway 521 South Sumter, SC 29153, with Pastor Donna H. Jackson, Eulogist and Rev. Clarence Hunter Officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Barbara Ann Tiller, 232 Murphy Street Sumter, SC 29150.
