Lillian Frierson Goode, 86, widow of Calvin Goode, was born on March 21, 1933 in Sumter County to the late Charlie and Atha Brogdon Frierson. She took her heavenly flight on Monday, July 1, 2019 at The Gardens at Sumter.

Lillian moved to New York, NY at an early age, and there she met and married the late Calvin Goode. She retired from Fortunoff, Inc. of New York City.

Lillian was a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church in New York, where she served faithfully until her health declined. She then relocated to Sumter, SC and became a member of St. Paul AME Church for a period of time.

Lillian leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Aleithia Ann Frierson of Sumter, SC; a granddaughter, Shonda Frierson (Leroy) Frost; a great-grandson, Jayden C. Singleton all of Bossier City, LA; a god-daughter, Tiffany McDaniels of New York; a sister, Gloria Frierson Carter of Sumter, SC; four aunts; one special and devoted aunt, Audrey Johnson of New York, NY; two nephews; one niece; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lillian was preceded in death by one sister, Carrie Brown; a brother, Charlie Frierson, Jr.; a grandson, Darnell Frierson; a brother-in-law, William Brown; and a nephew, Tyrone Brown.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2019 from 2-4pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Goode will be placed in the church on Friday, July 5, 2019 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Frederick Graves, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, 375 Boots Branch Road Sumter, SC 29153.
