Leroy Lamar Edwards, Jr., son of the late Leroy Edwards, Sr. and Vivian Bethel Edwards, was born on May 9, 1957 in Sumter County. He departed this life on Monday, March 4, 2019.

Leroy attended Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ at an early age. Mr. Edwards graduated from Sumter High School with the Class of 1976. He was employed by Bosh Braking for over 20 years. He was currently employed by MPW Trucking. He enjoyed listening to music, cooking on the grill, laughing and talking with friends and family, and was always willing to help others.

Those left to cherish his memories: his companion, Patty Tindal of the home; a daughter, Kelly (Nate) Edwards Simmons of Evans, GA; two sons, Shawn Edwards and Jeremy Edwards both of Sumter, SC; his extended family: Christopher Tindal, Jessica Tindal both of the home, and Tiffany Williams of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren: J'Shawn, Jaden, Ke'lan, Autumn, Caleb, Bryce, and Karson; two sisters, Audrey (Tyrone) Brunson and Antoinette Farmer both of Sumter, SC; three brothers: Perry (Helen) Edwards, Mark Edwards both of Sumter, SC, and Joshua (Cynthia) Edwards of Fort Worth, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Jenniel Lee Bethel; his paternal grandparents, Leroy and Grace Edwards; and a grandson, Greyson.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Edwards will be placed in the church on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Ricky Simmons Officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
