Leon Jones, beloved son of Cephus and Lizzie Mathena McCuthen Jones, was born the seventh of ten children on November 1, 1936 in Andrews, South Carolina. Our loving brother, uncle, & friend departed this life on Tuesday evening, July 16, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, SC.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Channie Belle Jones (Joe Lewis) Goodman of Folsom, PA and Flora Belle Jones Thompson of Sumter, SC; two brothers, Gerald Jones of Sumter, SC and Bernard Franklin Jones of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by four brothers: Granrue, Elder Joseaphus, Avant, and Thomas Jefferson (TJ) Jones; and a sister, Cleo Thelma Jones Richardson Hudson.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 3-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Jones will be placed in the church on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Canty, Sr. Officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the home, 1145 St. Matthews Church Road Sumter, SC 29153.
