Larry Bernard Carter Sr, 59, son of James Carter and the late Johnnie Mae Harvin Carter, was born on February 11, 1960 in Sumter, SC. He departed this life on Friday, September 13, 2019 at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memory a significant other, Ms. Minnie Louvenia Billie of Sumter, SC; a father, James Carter of Sumter, SC; sons: Larry B. (Arliesha) Carter, Jr., Deontae (Amber) Carter, Adrian Carter, and Jimmy (Sadiya) Carter all of Bridgeport, CT; a daughter, Blondell Carter of Bridgeport, CT; two adopted daughters, Renee Billie and Santana Billie both of Sumter, SC; ten grandchildren; a sister, Jan Upshaw (Tommie) of Birmingham, AL; brothers: Kenneth Carter (Deborah) of Greenville, SC, Bruce (Angela) Carter, Sr. of Upper Malboro, MD, Tony R. Carter (Felecia) of Birmingham, AL, and Wendell Carter of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially those of Friendship Apartments.

Mr. Carter will be placed in the church on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Burdell Hills Officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at 310 Kendal Avenue Sumter, SC 29154.
