Kenneth (Kenny) James was born November 17, 1958 to Lille Mae James Robinson and the late Gilbert Burgess. He passed away January 26, 2018 at the home of his mother. He was graduate of Sumter High School. Kenneth had two passions working on cars and cooking. Anyone that knew Kenny knows that he never met a stranger and he was never at a loss for words.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Lillie Mae James Robinson of Sumter SC; a son, Kenneth Avery James of Woodbridge VA; two daughters, Kennetta Chalys James of Woodbridge, VA and Jellycatu Kennyia James of Springfield, VA; one grandson, Vaughn Latham James Ganzales of Woodbridge VA; four sisters: Janis (Robert) Mivens of Athens, AL, Stephanie (Jerome) Bennett, Rosezetta (Harry) Titus both of Sumter, S.C., and Sherondah (Timothy) Volt of Colonial Heights, VA.; seven brothers Michael Burgess of Lexington, NC, Antonio (Delma) Burgess of Fayetteville, NC, Reginald Burgess of Sanderford, NC, James Robinson, Jr and Patrick Robinson of Sumter, SC, Andre Burgess of Southern Pines, NC, Darrell Burgess of Charlotte NC; Along with a life-long family friend, Anne (Elijah) Walker of Sumter, SC, two very close friends of Kenneth's, Wayne Durant of Sumter, SC and Edward Goodwill of Bowie, MD. And many other relatives, loved ones and friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Ann Robinson of Asheville, NC; his father, Gilbert Burgess of Fayetteville, NC and stepfather, James W. Robinson of Sumter, SC.
Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11am at Job's Mortuary Palor, 312 S Main St. Sumter, SC.
Family will receive friends at the home, 110 Fagan Street, Sumter, SC.
Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
