Johnny Ray Lowery, 62, son of the late Herman and Mozell Gibson Lowery, was born on April 17, 1956 in Sumter, SC.  He departed this life on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his residence.

Johnny was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School in 1974.  At an early age he became a member of Salem Baptist Church.

He served in the United States Army and retired in June 1994.  Upon his retirement, he returned to Savannah, Georgia where he resided and worked until February 2017.

Johnny enjoyed being with family and friends.  He also enjoyed music, cooking, and traveling.  He will be greatly missed by those who love him.

He leaves to cherish his memory one brother, Terrence Lowery; one sister, Connie Lowery; two nephews, LeBreeze Lowery and Lorenzo Evans; his children, and a host of other relatives and friends.
