Mr. John A. Smith, son of the late Mr. Lawrence Smith and Mrs. Adell Solomon Smith, was born in Lee County, South Carolina on May 5, 1957. On Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey, John was called home to rest from his labor.

Mr. Smith received his education in the public school system of Lee County. He loved his family and embraced every moment with them. John had a humorous personality and always made the people around him laugh. John was a dedicated wrestling fan and loved to dance.

He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers: Mr. Lawrence Smith of Sumter, SC, Mr. Robert Smith of Landover, MD, and Mr. Joe (Janice) Smith of Monroe, NC; four sisters: Mrs. Naomi Toney of Mayesville, SC, Mrs. Bessie Commander of Sumter, SC, Mrs. Daisy Mae (Willie B.) Wells of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Mrs. Jessie Mae (William) Nedd of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Smith will be placed in the church on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant AME Church 1800 Vista Lane Lynchburg, SC 29080, with Rev. Abraham Temoney, Jr., Pastor, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
