Jesse Lee Hardy, known as "Dick" to some was born November 14, 1949 in Greenville, NC. He was born to the late Alice and Abram Hardy Sr. He graduated from Berkley Ridge Job Core in Kentucky as a Mechanic. He departed this life on November 11, 2017at Palmetto Health Tuomey.
He later moved to Sumter, SC where he began attending Plaza Church of Christ and he decided to become a part of the Plaza Church family.
Jesse united in Holy Matrimony to Deborah Hardy and to his union two children were born.
He leaves to cherish his legacy, his wife, Deborah Hardy; two children, Jesse Witherspoon and Kira Hardy; eight sisters, Alice (Woody) Daniels of Ayden, NC, Ella (Kenneth) Sheppard of Winterville, NC, Shirley (Lymon) Harris, Lizzie (Marvin) Williams, Martha (Ben) Johnson and Lillian (Toronto) all of Greenville, NC, Mary (Larry) Hall and Velma (Nelson) Worsley of Bethel , NC; eight brothers, Abram Hardy, Jimmy Hardy, Allen Ray (Sallie) Hardy Sr, Robert (Lillie) Little Jr., Timothy Hartley all of Greenville, NC, Oscar Little and Richard Little both of Maryland, and Douglas (Brenda) Edwards of Washington, DC; three aunts, Ernestine Whitley of Greenville, NC, Geraldine Bolden and Ruby Braswell of Washington, DC; one uncle, Clarence (Sandra) Whitley of Washington, DC; five grandchildren, Madisyn Witherspoon, Khari Witherspoon, Quest Witherspoon, Bryce Witherspoon and Chase Hardy; one daughter-in-law, Jacqui Witherspoon; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday November 17, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Hardy will be placed in the church on Sat. at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Sat. November 18 at 12noon at Plaza Church of Christ 1402 Camden Highway Sumter with Brother Harry Davis, Officiating.
Family will be receiving friends at the home 113 Hasel Street, Sumter.
